Help us become the Eyes on SAV - Delaware!

Join the DeSSAV Workgroup for a hands-on introduction to SAV Scouters, our iNaturalist-based community science program. During this training you'll learn why submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) is important, how to identify Delaware's most common aquatic plant species, and how to submit observations through iNaturalist that contribute to statewide mapping and conservation efforts.

Following a short instruction, we'll head into the creek to practice identifying and documenting SAV using the iNaturalist app by joining the Eyes on DAV- Delaware project.

During this training you'll learn:

  • What submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) is and why it matters

  • How to identify common Delaware SAV species
